W7PP MODS HELP ADDENDUM

PURPOSE

This addendum documents W7PP Mods added features and operating behavior.

This addendum is documentation only.

It does not replace the base manual. It lists W7PP changes, W7PP operating notes, and W7PP contest logging behavior.

W7PP MODS ADDED FEATURES

W7PP adds these user-facing features.

1. W7PP CONTEST LOGGER

The contest logger is called W7PP Contest Logger.

The logger window title format is:

W7PP Contest Logger - Contest Name

Examples:

W7PP Contest Logger - ARRL Field Day
W7PP Contest Logger - NA VHF
W7PP Contest Logger - WW Digi

2. SUPPORTED CONTEST ACTIVITIES

The W7PP Contest Logger supports these contest activities.

ARRL Field Day
NA VHF
EU VHF
WW Digi
ARRL Digi
RTTY Roundup

3. CONTEST ACTIVITY BEHAVIOR

When a supported contest activity is selected, W7PP opens the matching W7PP Contest Logger.

The base contest logger window is not used for supported W7PP contest activities.

Unsupported activities should not open the W7PP Contest Logger.

4. W7PP LIVE CONTEST FEED

W7PP writes a live contest feed for supported contest activities.

The live feed format is ADIF.

The live feed is used by the W7PP Contest Logger during operation.

5. W7PP CONTEST EXPORTS

The W7PP Contest Logger can create contest ADIF files.

The W7PP Contest Logger can create Cabrillo files where supported.

Contest ADIF is used for contest contact records.

Cabrillo is used for contest submission formats where supported.

6. W7PP MULTIANSWER

W7PP MultiAnswer supports one active contact and one queued caller.

The queued caller waits until the active contact completes or times out.

After the active contact completes, W7PP logs the active contact first, then promotes the queued caller.

Overlay text is display only.

7. W7PP AUTO CQ

W7PP Auto CQ helps return the station to CQ behavior after a completed contact.

Auto CQ is intended to reduce operator workload during active operation.

8. W7PP DECODE WORKERS

W7PP displays decode worker status on the main window.

The worker display shows the active W7PP decode worker policy.

9. W7PP CONTEST STATUS LABEL

W7PP displays the current contest status on the main window.

The contest status label is placed near the CQ response selector and does not cover Auto CQ.

10. W7PP LOGGING RULE

W7PP logging rule:

LOG EVERYTHING

Duplicate completed contacts are allowed.

Completed repeats should not be suppressed.

The reason is simple. The other station may need the contact record.

OPERATING NOTES

During an active contest, routine verification should use live logging checks.

Use the local log, the W7PP live contest feed, and the W7PP Contest Logger display.

Do not export contest ADIF or Cabrillo just for routine verification during an active contest unless the operator specifically needs an export.

Export contest ADIF and Cabrillo normally after the contest or when intentionally preparing submission files.
